THE MASTER – Movie Review

Ever since the first teaser trailer was released, The Master has been my most anticipated movie of 2012.  Writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s films are slow-building, character based, and unique, which is why many of his previous ones are some of my all-time favorites.  And while The Master isn’t quite as perfect as I wanted it to be, and is probably my least favorite of his to date, there is still a great deal to enjoy. THE IDES OF MARCH – Movie Review

I’m not a fan of politics in the slightest.  While it’s obviously a crucial part of our modern society, I’ve never had much interest in discussing or following political issues.  So, with that mindset, I had mixed feelings going into George Clooney’s new political thriller The Ides of March.  However, to my surprise, Clooney takes the complex world of politics and strings an easy-to-follow, compelling thriller out of it, completely investing the viewer, even if they don’t have much interest in the real world politics.
